Standard MAVLink flight-plan retrieval runs at too high a message cadence to complete reliably over the BLOS link and will error if attempted directly from the GCS application. Horizon UI resolves this by acting as a buffer: it retrieves and stores the flight plan from the aircraft across multiple BLOS messages, then serves it to the GCS application locally.

Prerequisite: an active BLOS connection to the aircraft (see BLOS-Only Operation or LOS + BLOS Operation).

1. Open the aircraft in Fleet View.
2. Select Request Flight Plans.
3. From the drop-down, choose the plan type to retrieve: Mission, Geo Fence, or Rally Points.
4. Confirm the request is sent. Horizon UI retrieves and stores the plan across multiple BLOS messages; while retrieval is in progress the Request Flight Plans control shows a retrieval-in-progress state (Requesting…).
5. When retrieval completes, the control returns to its normal state.
6. Request the flight plan from the GCS application as normal — Horizon UI serves the stored plan locally.

Note

Do not request the flight plan directly from the GCS application over BLOS before Horizon UI has buffered it — the direct retrieval cadence is too high for the satellite link and will produce errors.
